For the past three years the villagers of Taman, Paiton district have utilize biogas for lighting and cooking. The biogas comes for cattle wastes. The biogas utilization project which is introduced by Jawa Power-YTL have now reached 270 units. It provides many advantages to the villagers as they can keep their environment cleaner with the wastes being processed rather than dumped and at the same time saves them from buying LPG for cooking. In addition, the biogas waste can also be processed to produce organic fertilizer. The cooperative is buying biogas waste from the villagers and use it to produce fertilizers. The initiatives generate additional income to the villagers and also the cooperatives.
